Back in 1966, Autins started life producing components for the Leyland Mini and continued to supply these components until the vehicle ceased to be produced some 30 years later. We are now one of the leading UK suppliers of noise and heat management products in the automotive market, producing and supplying over two million parts per month to customers including some of the world’s leading vehicle manufacturers, such as Jaguar Land Rover, Aston Martin, Volvo and Honda.
Electric vehicle (EV) models have been announced by every major automotive OEM and Autins is very proud to have designed and supplied bespoke NVH packages to a significant number of world-class marques.
The removal of the internal combustion engine has also removed the engine noise associated with traditional vehicles. There is therefore an expectation of a quieter drive in EVs. In practice, the removal of one major noise source uncovers a range of different noise, vibration and harshness challenges across the vehicle.
Additionally, no longer having an old-style engine as a heat source now requires the use of precious battery power to keep the cabin at comfortable temperature all year round.
At Autins, we understand how to isolate and eliminate noise created by new EV components which typically create more tonal and high frequency noises that can be annoying for passengers.
Using our materials to offer lightweight solutions with superior acoustic performance, we reduce the noise previously masked by the internal combustion engine, without having to increase the weight of the vehicle.
External noise an issue? With the right material or component in the correct application, we can eradicate low, mid and high level frequencies, no matter the size of the application area: pillars, dash, headliner, under seat, seat back or parcel shelf!

Vibration or exhaust noise an issue? Not anymore, with Autins’ heat resistance and vibration reduction materials.
Complex boot shapes are no match for our mould presses, multiple axis foam profiler and reaction moulded polyurethane lines!
All our components are offered in combinations with a large selection of fixing strategies including one hundred percent coverage or striped tapes (with easy release liners and/or pull tabs), adhesives, fir-tree fixings and hook & loop. However, for a more cost-effective fixing strategy, most of our materials can be sonic-welded or can utilise existing fixings such as weld studs and integral clips.
